Dear Savvy Rest Customers,
In these unprecedented and challenging times, we find ourselves reflecting on what matters most—our shared human connections, the communities we are part of, and our respect for our planet.
We notice neighbors around the world singing to each other from balconies during isolation, people cheering and celebrating our first responders from a distance, and communities coming together to provide for the less fortunate and those in dire need.
During a crisis, the good of humanity comes to light and rises above the fear and suffering that exists. Our perspective shifts and we recognize the things we may have taken for granted—our friends, family, co-workers, health, simple freedoms, and the abundance that surrounds us.
At Savvy Rest, we are adapting to the new normal. Our employee owners who normally work in an office environment are working from home and are still taking care of all of our valued customers’ needs—just from the comfort of their living rooms! Our employee owners who produce and ship the organic products you trust are working in shifts in an effort to practice social distancing–but we’re still getting your orders out the door as normal (just with even more eco-friendly cleaning practices).
This is a challenging time for so many, but there are resources available. If you own a small business, or work for one, you can take a look at the Small Business Association’s guidance for disaster relief loans. The loans available through either an Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) or the Payroll Protection Program (PPP) can be forgiven if used in accordance with the guidelines outlined in the CARES Act. And there are funds and programs available for individuals that are affected by the COVID-19 outbreak.
As a small business of only 26 employee owners, we truly value each and every purchase from our loyal customers. Every online order matters so if you’re spending this time at home and want to update your mattress, bedding, or even treat your dog to an organic pet bed, we hope you’ll consider supporting us if you’re financially able to do so. And if you’re not, you can always show us some love on social media! Small businesses are hurting and need our support so we encourage you to do that in any way you can.
We will get through this together and we will be stronger for having weathered this storm. When the virus has passed, the time we spend with our loved ones will be sweeter; a trip to the store will feel like a deep, relaxing breath; we’ll cherish our vacations and the television or cell phone won’t beckon us with such urgency. We won’t revert back to old habits because we’ll know what it’s like to have so much taken away.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. We are sending well wishes to you and your family.
In health, comfort, and appreciation,
Your Friends at Savvy Rest
