Savvy Rest is very curious about sleep—and about people, too. Today’s Morning Questionnaire is first in a series. From time to time, we’ll ask interesting folks these nine questions to give you a peek at how others sleep…even what they’re dreaming about.
How did you feel when you woke up this morning?
Too relaxed. I was coming out of a good dream.
Can you remember a dream fragment?
I was in some kind of beauty pageant for 50-year-olds, and my concern was being able to fit into the dress I wanted. But I was having fun getting ready! Wait…I hate beauty pageants, so maybe it was a nightmare.
What’s the first thing you did when you got up (after the bathroom)?
I always check my phone, gotta check those emails from overseas. And I turned on the Today Show.
What do you like most about mornings?
That I take my time. I walk my dog, and take a bath…literally, I do this. And I get into the office around 10:00 am.
What do you like least?
When I have a very, very early morning meeting. And my husband loves getting up and going…to each their own, right?
If you could change one thing about your bedroom, what would it be?
I’d add another window and get a new piece of art.
When was the best sleep you’ve ever had?
At our country place. Country air…. Or when I’ve visited my father, who has a home near the ocean.
The worst?
As a menopausal woman, it’s pretty much all the time! Or when I get bad news about a family member. Probably the worst was when I heard my mother had a cancer scare.
What would you like to hear to tuck you in, other than “Night-night”?
I know this great musician in the spa world. One of his mantras is, it will always be okay. I think that’s the important thing. No matter what, it’s always going to be okay.
