The Afton natural platform bed is made in Virginia by Savvy Rest’s own skilled woodworkers. The Afton supports your sleep with timeless simplicity. Maple posts, rails, and legs are finished to your preference. Choose zero-VOC linseed oil; zero-VOC walnut, cedar or mahogany stain; or natural unfinished. No lacquers or varnishes are used.
Made to last for generations, the Afton features closely-spaced poplar slats and solid steel, mortised-in corner brackets. Each corner has three tenons for optimal strength and durability. Simple assembly; no tools required.

Because our platform beds are made of solid maple and poplar wood, natural variations may occur. Humidity has the ability to expand solid wood. This is normal and will not negatively impact the structure or beauty of the furniture piece.
Zero-VOC Stains
It’s important to us that our stains are safe for our customers as well as our woodworkers who are using them every day in our woodshop. This is why we’ve opted for zero-VOC stains.
Choose between linseed oil, cedar, mahogany, or walnut.
NOTE: Due to the natural variations in the color of raw wood, stain finishes may slightly differ from product images.

This bed is amazing! We bought the Queen size with linseed finish and it is the best furniture investment we’ve ever made. This is not only a beautiful bed frame, but it is so sturdy. And I can’t say enough about how easy it is to assemble and disassemble. When we moved it was so nice to not worry about losing screws or small pieces. Exceeded my expectations in every way. Fit and finish are fine furniture quality. Appreciated the soft edges on the slats which are smooth and perfectly sanded. The finish stain was superbly applied. Just superior craftsmanship throughout. My only quibble would be with the hook plate to-mounting plate connection on the rails, which, tactily, doesn’t give back enough positive feedback when making the connection. Too much play for my taste but once the bed frame is assembled and the slats are installed it feels very solid.

We have the Afton in the linseed coating and have had it for over a year. Before finding this company, we went through 3 other bed frames from “high street” retailers and they were.. cr*p. So glad we found this company. We love our bed. It’s gorgeous. The maple is beautiful and so smooth, we love the linseed coating. It is so sturdy too! We can jump on it and be rough with it and she’s perfect. Looking forward to having this bed for many many manyyyy years to come! Looking to get the headboard from the other bed now..
